Well I just need to accept it…. I really do have to start using anti-aging products :-/ Oh dear Lord save me! When and how did this happen?! I suffer from fairly large pores on my nose, the surrounding area, and chin. I have always known this, however had a horrifying experience recently when I was testing out AESOP’s Parsley Seed Mask and saw how big they actually are!
So, I did some research for anti-aging/pore-minimising products. I took some inspiration from Caroline Hirons recent YouTube video (who really promotes the use of some acid based products in your skin routine) and promptly went on Luxola’s website. I also had a look at their best-selling skin care products and the result was three Alpha-H items: a cleanser, exfoliator and “toner/resurfacer”.
1. Alpha-H Triple Action Cleanser with Thyme : This foam free cleanser (I dislike foam cleanser as I find it very drying & stripping) helps remove make-up and cleanse the face. After massaging it all over your face you use a damp, warm muslin cloth to take it off. I like it so far and definitely appreciate that my skin doesn’t feel like it needs a moisturizer immediately after. One thing though – it is not fun to get this in your eyes. Nope. Definitely burns.
2. Alpha-H Micro-Cleanse Exfoliator: Boy I wish I could use this everyday. Why? Only for the tingling-minty-sensation! However, you are only supposed to use this twice a week :( I am desperately trying to control myself! You need to remove the exfoliator with a muslin cloth and for some reason I had a really hard time getting it all off. I don’t know if it was because of my muslin cloth or if it’s the product – I have some investigation to do.
3. Alpha-H Liquid Gold: Not the most fragrant scent to apply to your face, but I am liking it. It’s a product that claims to do all that I am looking for – diminish wrinkles, tighten pores, and give a clearer complexion. You use it every other night – alone if you want an intensive treatment or, apply a moisturizer for a less intensive treatment.
What I feel I am missing is a good everyday pore-minimising toner. I have my eyes on this one at the moment, but want to wait a little longer before I make a decision ;) Any other recommendations out there?
